Growing up a picky eater who survived on every chicken nugget and tender I could find, I never thought my path would lead me to a career in nutrition. I find that many of my clients worry that “all dietitians eat perfectly” and may feel hesitant to share their struggles believing they will be judged or that they should “know better”.
Well, I’m here to say that’s just not the case. First, spoiler alert, there is no perfect eating! We all have a journey to take when it comes to finding a maintainable and enjoyable way to take care of ourselves. Using a blend of compassion, humor, individualized care, and evidence-based recommendations, I am grateful to support my clients as they take their journey to true wellness.

Best thing about being an anti-diet dietitian
There are so many things to love, but one of the best is witnessing my clients' self-confidence and zest for life grow. It's a wonderful part of the process to watch clients strengthen their intuition and recover from a painful relationship with food that so many people find themselves in.
Favorite food
Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, but specifically the green kind.

I discovered my passion for nutrition and wellness while cooking with my family, taking culinary courses, and participating in athletics. I believe that all foods can nourish the body when in balance, and I’ve passionately dedicated my career to helping others find peace and enjoyment in their relationship with food.
My work philosophy is to create a safe space for you to bravely uncover, explore, and heal food and body concerns. Finding balance in your self-care practices by allowing the body to communicate what it needs for rest, energy, and movement, while also giving unconditional permission to enjoy a variety of foods. Balance may also require the integration of the biological, psychological, and social experiences of nourishment. You are the expert on your body's experience, and I am here as an advocate and support for wellbeing and full recovery.

From being raised in a Portuguese household, to participating in countless softball tournaments and sports endeavors, I grew up in a space where food was celebrated and shared among family and friends. After discovering the nutrition and dietetics career path, I knew I wanted to become a dietitian to help others find the same joy in food and movement.
I’ve worked with patients and clients in many different settings- from the ICU, to oncology clinics, to general outpatient nutrition. But no matter the setting, I’m always the most excited to help clients explore and heal their relationship with food, body, and exercise in a fun and evidenced-based way, while supporting their individual needs!

Throughout my life, food has always been something to love and something to enjoy. From family parties to watching cooking shows to trying new restaurants - mealtimes were always cherished. As we grow older, the relationships we have with food and our bodies tend to become more complicated.
For me, being a dietitian means understanding how to nourish your body in a way that feels good for you. Nutrition is meant to be individualized and there is no one right (or wrong) way to eat. The best part of my career is being able to help people build a peaceful relationship with food and their bodies!

Best thing about being an anti-diet dietitian

I have always loved food. I grew up helping my Mom bake in the kitchen, and spent summers tasting fresh cucumbers from my Dad's garden. As I grew, I realized food was something that made me happy, so I thought I might as well make it into a career! Studying and working with food has brought me all over the country and globe, which I am so grateful for. I’ve worked as a chef at a holistic health center in Peru, doing research on a coffee plantation in Costa Rica, and studying food culture in Mexico. I've also worked in hospitals, on organic farms, in nursing homes, and helping people apply for SNAP benefits in food pantries. Through my work I've been privileged to work with a wide variety of people- from newborn infants, to sponsored athletes, to folks receiving hospice care. If there is one thing I want people to know about nutrition and eating, it's that there is no one-size fits all approach. Health looks and feels really different for everyone. My mission is to help others return to whole health and rediscover the JOY that is eating.

Having worked at Hasbro Children’s Hospital for 5+ years, I have helped provide care for a variety of patients ranging from multiple food allergies and special diets to eating disorders/disordered eating and behavioral health patients. Outside of the hospital, I have experience working with individual clients to put an end to food rules and diet culture that may be holding them back. My work consists of anti-diet, size-inclusive nutrition therapy rooted in HAES ® principles.
No matter what the setting, the highlight of my work is getting the chance to build a connection and establish a lasting relationship with everyone that comes my way. Regardless of meeting individually or in a group setting with families, my goal is to create a comfortable atmosphere where we can share ideas and work together to achieve something great. Whether I am putting my culinary arts degree to work brainstorming recipe ideas or helping talk through a recent challenge in your relationship with food, I will work to support you in the best way I can.
